The very existence of the Reservation/Quota System in India screams "We are a Nation of Inequality and Casts Centric Citizens!". It solidifies and notarizes the notion of India being a backward country!
Back during the newly independent India, when the whole reservation system was introduced, the system was undoubtedly necessary! No arguments about that.
But now we live in 21st Century for god's sake. We live in the digital era with everyone's having their opinions heard, having own community, own society, own everything, regardless of their religious-social-caste background, no one can oppress anyone even if they wanted to. The only divide that actually remains to this very day is the divide of the financial status of an individual.
The rich are getting richer and the poor are getting poorer as we speak. The No. 1 losers of the discrepancies of the law are the middle class and lower-middle-class people. Always! If the reservation system must exist, they might as well for and only for the poor of the nation. Not for a particular caste or religion who are branded as backward-oppressed by the advocates of hate and superstition!
These points that I am pointing out right now are neither newly pointed nor undebated. The problem is the over sensitivity of people over the issue. Very few people are willing to talk over an issue logically nowadays. The moment the issues of reservation system is raised, people immediately switch on to defensive mode. As if it's not a law but the very God that no one can raise doubts upon.
So I'd leave you with this conclusion, "I'd say something, you'd say something, I'd hear you, You'd hear me, in the end, we'd compare both of our views in a logical manner to draw a conclusion and come to a singular undisputable agreed opinion." If everyone adopts such manner of discussion, then issues over national and political matter would be a thing of past.
Have a Nice day.
